The Hamilton MA Historical Society is pleased to have a new multi-featured website for the Public and Members!
From the calendar to the gallery, the new website offers a great website visitor experience and a location to expand our living history for those who live in the Town, or are simply curious about the earliest history of the United States of America here in our historic region of Essex County. Surrounded by other towns of Colonial Period history, including Essex, Ipswich, Topsfield and Wenham, MA, there is a lot to discover! Join us in the adventure to learn of our past and know its impact on our present!
"We are not makers of history. We are made by history."
~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
We feel fortunate to live where hundreds of years of local American history is apparent in our municipal buildings, churches, private homes, businesses, agriculture, natural landscape, infrastructure and culture. That history sometimes includes our own ancestors, though distant cousins they may be! The HHS Team of members is enthusiastic to share that stream of information; people, places and things that make Hamilton MA the town it is now in the 21st Century. There's always something "old" making "news". We'll share it here with you!
You are welcome to comment on the topics at hand. We expect that you will limit your comments to polite and respectful responses. If you are able to expand on any topic with verifiable facts that might add historical information/context to the blog piece, please do! Our goal is to create the most complete story of Hamilton possible for generations to come!Website: hamiltonmahistoricalsociety.org
